Another Home Run for Sia!

Album Review: Sia, "We Are Born"

Sia! You lil' Aussie firecracker! It's literally impossible for me to pick a favorite off of this new album. I saw this darling lil' lady with a huge voice a couple months ago at the TLA in Philly and she was one of the only artists who has ever made me shed tears - that's how powerful her vocals are. We Are Born, her latest, is a bit different than her last two albums in the sense that this one is going to get you hype and make you wanna Clap Your Hands, as her new single commands. Both Some People have Real Problems & Coulour the Small One are best accompanied with a bottle of wine, a bubble bath and candlelight, but We Are Born is full of high energy and you can tell Sia is at her happiest. Flawless, from start to finish, where you'll find a lovely cover of Madonna's Oh Father and a second rendition of the album's only slow jam, I'm in Here. Sia = perfection. You can spot the fun, flirty influence of X-Tina, who she's clearly been getting drunk with (Sia wrote four songs for Bionic, review below). This... is the album to beat this year.

My Grade: A
