Cameron's 'Box' Not Nearly as Intriguing as her Vagina

DVD Review: THE BOX
starring Cameron Diaz, James Marsden, Frank Langella, Celia Weston
directed by Richard Kelly

This is one of those movies that is supposed to make you ask questions like, "What would you do?", but instead I just kept thinking, this would be really interesting if it were a documentary on Cameron Diaz's vagina. Yes, her box is much more appealing subject matter to me than this remarkably bad excuse for a thriller. Other questions I have include, "How did this project get a greenlight?" They say you can make a bad movie with a good screenplay but you can't make a good movie with a bad screenplay. Did anyone read this garbage before they agreed to make/star in it? From the moment it begins, there are multiple reasons to hate this movie. It SCREAMS Direct to DVD or even bad Sunday night movie on CBS from the 70s. I don't know who to blame for Diaz and Marsden's dreadful performances but the only reason to spend $1.07 renting this from Redbox is so you can make fun of it.
My Grade: F
