I wanted to see this movie for the same reason anyone else would - the killer cast! Who ISN'T in this movie? Well, if we're being literal, a lot of my favorites aren't, but still... there's enough eye candy here to give you a cavity just as fast as that box of chocolates your significant other gotcha. Just like any assorted box of candy, the cast has delicious favorites that really stand out and then the ones you skip over or offer to a friend. Scene stealers amongst the massive ensemble include a hilarious Garner, Biel, and even Kutcher (who much of the film follows) in his most endearing and appealing role to date. I also have to give props to MacLaine, Hathaway, Grace and both Roberts. Then there are the not so tasty casting choices that not only lose merit because everyone else is so good, but also manage to bring down the quality of the film. Alba, Foxx, McDreamy & McSteamy and the Taylors all contribute to lackluster plot lines and performances, some of which could've been entirely eliminated. I stand by my "no spoilers" style of reviewing, so I'll just say the "gay" plot is ridiculous! Thanks for thinking of us and trying though!! Overall, the stars that shine save the day and this is one Valentine's Day you'll always remember because of them. It really is quite charming, it just runs a little too long because of some over-written plots and characters.
My Grade: B
