Film Review: A SINGLE MAN
starring Colin Firth, Julianne Moore, Matthew Goode, Ginnifer Goodwin, Nicholas Hoult
directed by Tom Ford
We already knew Tom Ford had stealth and beauty and a remarkable, visionary talent that contributes a great deal of art to the world of fashion. It's a beautiful translation to observe what his creative mind can produce for the film world. Ford presents a directorial debut that is as eloquent and polished as a Gucci suit. Featuring the performance of the year (and his career) from Colin Firth, flawless cinematography and a Vogue-esque combo of fashion and filmmaking at its finest, this uniquely crafted project ranks high amongst the year's best. Julianne Moore is brilliant, as usual, co-starring alongside beauties like Matthew Goode and newcomer Nicholas Hoult, who is shockingly more than just a pretty face.
My Grade: A
